During University, I wrote an article about the dangers reporters face in war zones. Via satellite phone, I set up an interview with the ABC's Middle Eastern correspondent Anne Barker, to hear about her experiences.

One of the most memorable things from our conversation was how Ms Barker described her sense of excitement at the start of each day. She told me no two days are ever the same in journalism and this is what attracts me most to the industry.

Journalism combines my natural curiosity, with a creative outlet to share what I've learned. Since graduating in 2013, I have been working as a casual Associate Producer  and Online News Producer at Seven News in Brisbane, as a radio journalist and national newsreader for Southern Cross Austereo and as an assistant to the Australian correspondent for Reporters Without Borders.
